Recruiting: Marketing and Event Assistant

Position Description

Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Event and Communications Coordinator, and in collaboration with an engaged team that is aligned to the organization’s strategic objectives, this position provides support in the following areas:

Social Media
  • Collaborate with management and team members to plan, support and execute social media content creation that aligns with identified strategic objectives and priorities
  • Coordinate social media projects
  • Maintain updated website and social media accounts
  • Design visual elements for digital platforms
  • Gather, research and prepare communications that support approved communications plans
  • Gather inquiries on social media and coordinate the process of answering inquiries with management and the team
  • Report on the success of social media campaigns based on identified strategic objectives and priorities
Event Planning and Fundraising
  • Collaborate with management and team members to plan, support and execute events
  • Coordinate event registration, feedback and evaluation processes, as requested
  • Collaborate with management and team members to plan, support and execute successful fund-raising activities and events that are aligned with the approved Fund Development objectives
  • Collaborate with management and team members to develop sponsorship opportunities that aligned with the approved Fund Development objectives, upon request
  • Research and present potential funding opportunities, upon request
  • Research and gather information needed to support funding proposals, upon request
Volunteer Coordination
  • Coordinate Volunteer participation in the organization
Administrative Support
  • Provide ongoing and varying levels of administrative support to management and team members, upon request 

Position Requirements

This position is a temporary, full time Canada Summer Jobs position. To be eligible, youth must:

  • Be between 15-30 years old 
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment 
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment 
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Not be related to staff or member of board of directors of Niagara Peninsula Homes or Niagara Women's Enterprise Centre

Proficiency
  • These programs/software are used regularly for the positions duties.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Google Drive
  • Canva
  • Basic website development understanding
  • Zoom
  • Social Media Platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube)
