I was really sick for 3 years after I had my daughter. I went through severe postpartum depression. During this time all I could do was sleep and when the baby cried, I cried. I was admitted to the psychiatric ward five times in one year, where they were experimenting on many different medications to make me well. However, none of them worked. I became very suicidal and I felt like I was ready to die.

I grew up in Thorold, I was born on December 8th, 1966. My childhood was somewhat happy, I was a daddy’s girl. The first time I experienced sexual abuse was when I was 7 years-old by a family member. My life started to change, my mother started to really favor my older sister as I started to enter my pre-teens. By the way, I had six siblings and everyone was adopted. I started to become rebellious at a young age.
